Who’s There? Speaker & Voice In Poetry with Logen Cure

In this 3-session workshop, participants will learn about speaker and voice in poetry. Conventional wisdom says that readers should never assume that the speaker of the poem and the poet are one in the same. This workshop will explore the tensions of this idea, variations on the relationship between speaker and poet, and strategies for developing greater control over the poetic voice. Participants will apply concepts from our discussion in composing their own poems. Writers of all levels of experience are welcome! This workshop is designed to be fun and helpful even if you cannot attend all 3 sessions, so if you’re interested but unable to attend every session, you should still join us!
Please note: this 3-part workshop meets April 18th, April 25th and May 2nd.
