Eat, Drink & Be Literary: Rom Com Literary Brunch

Grab your brunch besties and join us for a selection of scenes from some of your favorite literary romantic comedies. The brunch, held in the elegant Turner House ballroom and featuring prose, poetry, plus a surprise or two, will feature tacos from a favorite local spot, and of course, mimosas*!

Micah J. L. Brooks is an actor easily found performing in DFW at local theatres including Stage West, Circle Theatre, Water Tower Theatre, Dallas Children’s Theatre, Uptown Players, Casa Mañana, Theatre Three, Theatre Arlington and more. When he’s not in a play, he’s probably watching it.

 

 

Gideon Ethridge is an Actor/Singer/Musician based out of Dallas/NYC. Some of his favorite roles include: Gabe in NEXT TO NORMAL, Tony in WEST SIDE STORY, Moritz Stiefel in SPRING AWAKENING, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET as Elvis Presley, and in GODSPELL as Jesus. You can see him locally this summer at Garland Summer Musicals leading Catch Me If You Can as Frank Abagnale Jr. Gideon is a songwriter/guitarist working on his first album! Jessica Humphrey is a Dallas native and an Assistant Professor of Theatre at Texas Christian University. She holds a Bachelors in Music from Western Carolina University and Masters in Musical Theatre from San Diego State University. She is a working director/choreographer as well as an actress on stage, screen, and voiceover. She is currently serving as the President of the Musical Theatre Educators’ Alliance. Favorite roles include Peter in Peter Pan, Kate Monster in Avenue Q, Annie in Annie Get Your Gun, and roles she has created in new musical theatre works. In addition to her love for musical theatre, she balances out her life with a WSET Level 2 Certification in Wine and Spirits. She also hosts her own podcast: Tannins and Tunes! Quintin Jones Jr. attended the University of Tulsa for Musical Theatre. Credits include Boys in the Band, Queer Carol, We Are Continuous (Uptown Players), A Christmas Carol, HAIR, and White Rabbit, Red Rabbit (Dallas Theatre Center), Lion, Witch & the Wardrobe (Dallas Children’s Theatre).

 

 

Sienna Riehle is a genderfluid performer native to the DFW area. In addition to their mainstream theatrical work, audiences may recognize them from various staged readings with MusicalWriters.com or as one of the hosts of popular Dallas cabaret, Broadway On A Tuesday. Sienna is also an award-winning stage director and the host and creator of the cult favorite podcast Would You Still Love Me If I Was A Worm? (found on most audio platforms). Brett Warner is a seasoned DFW performer who most recently appeared as Marya in Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 at Theatre Three. Some favorite credits include: EKO in The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity, Josh Cohen (and others) in The Other Josh Cohen, Pippin in Fellowship! The Musical (Circle Theatre); Mopsa in Head Over Heels, plus many Broadway Our Ways (Uptown Players); Woman 1 in I Love You, You’re Perfect… at Theatre Too; Woman 1 in First Date (Stage West); Sarah in Murder Ballad (Imprint Theatreworks); Mayzie LaBird in Seussical!, Lucy in A Charlie Brown Christmas (Dallas Children’s Theater).
