Lyceum Series: Anthony Gabriel – Accessing And Assessing The Abstract: A Poetry Workshop

September 21 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm CDT

Welcome to the lyceum.

These free, monthly workshops are held on the third Saturday of the month, and offer writers of every genre and skill level an opportunity to learn, experiment and develop their craft. We hope you’ll join us!

Poetry is a medium that relies on abstraction and dealing with abstract conceptions such as emotions and feeling, ideas, beliefs and concepts. Though poetry can and does rely on the concrete, it is rooted in places and spaces of introspection and reflection. In this workshop, participants will read and analyze examples of poetic abstraction, then apply these concepts in composition.
