Inner Moonlight – Maya Golden

Inner Moonlight is the monthly poetry series for the Wild Detectives! RSVP to meet us in the backyard at 7:30pm on Wednesday December 13th for a live reading from one featured writer, with a brief open mic to follow. Don’t worry, podcast fans! We will record the live show and release it as a podcast episode for y’all. This month, we are proud to present Maya Golden!

Maya Golden is an Associated Press winning and Emmy-nominated freelance journalist from Garland, Texas. Maya currently lives in Tyler where her foundation, 1 in 3 Foundation, serves survivors of sexual trauma living in East Texas. Her memoir, The Return Trip, releases November 14 from Rising Action Publishing Co. Her first novel, a political thriller, The Senator, will release in April 2025 also through RAPC. Maya has written for Newsweek, Salon, Insider and Black Girl Nerds.com.
