Hear Me, See Me: The Love That Dares

Join us for the second installment of the Correspondence Project, a 3-part collaboration with LGBTQ history organization Badge Of Pride. Featuring performances of iconic texts from the LGBTQ literary canon and material written and performed by local Queer poets, this powerful evening blending poetry, prose and music is one you won’t want to miss.
Logen Cure is a queer poet and educator. She curates Inner Moonlight, the monthly reading series and podcast at The Wild Detectives in Dallas. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. J Davis-Jones (They/Them) is a nonbinary multidisciplinary theatre artist, content creator, and spiritual Mentor. Their work spans acting, stage management, directing, design/tech, physical theatre, and movement-based performance.Notable roles include Jo in Little Women, Rachonda in Aint No Mo with Soul Rep, Mila in Swimming While Drowning with Cara Mía Theatre, and My Red Hand, My Black Hand with Soul Rep Theatre. Brian Harden loves a stage – from singing lead in the band Bishop Rising to performing, directing, and producing – he can’t be tamed. Credits include 11 original murder mysteries; the musicals HAIR and Cabaret at Arts Mission Oak Cliff; the immersive haunted experience Infernum; Something Wicked by Altar’d Playhouse; and the creator of Lost Boy Loteria at Taco y Vino. Brian’s career spans Texas, Illinois, Ohio, New York, and England. He now calls Oak Cliff home and is the proud dog dad of Dashiell and his hundreds of plants. By day, he is the Rentals Manager at AMOC, and by night he is the Disco Cowboy – Are you ready to “roll on the river”?
LyriK Hunter is a Dallas-based poetic expressive artist, originally from Midland, TX. She’s a passionate poet, singer, speaker, actress, teaching artist, mentor and entrepreneur. She’s graced stages like The Black Academy of Arts & Letters, F.L.O.W. International (Brazil/Italy/France), and many other national and local stages. LyriK is former CEO of the award-winning Brown Sugah Lounge, and a very passionate community advocate, who strives daily to provide safe spaces for the community to gather and be heard, using her #PoetiKHealingMovement brand to promote healing and mental wellness through writing, poetry and the arts. Quintin Jones, Jr. is a local actor, singer, and dancer. He has worked previously with athe Writer’s Garret and Badge of Pride. Most recently, he has been seen in A Case for the Existence of God at Stage West.
Sienna Riehle is a gender-fluid performer, award-winning stage director, and cult favorite podcast host. They are honored for the opportunity to collaborate with The Writer’s Garret and Badge of Pride alongside other fabulous local artists! You may catch Sienna singing with their friends and chosen family at Broadway On A Tuesday (B.O.A.T.), or catch some of their directing work this season at Opera Arlington.
Gabriel Scampini (He/Him) is a Venezuelan director, actor, and choreographer based in Dallas, TX. Trained in movement and ritual theatre, he has performed and competed with companies across DFW and directed Como Agua para Chocolate (Teatro Dallas, 2025), now returning for a new season in June 2026. He co-leads monthly movement laboratories with Teatro Dallas, open to the public (LUMINAL), and recently directed Nudos & Raíces for his Arts Mission Oak Cliff residency. His work bridges English and Spanish-speaking audiences through ritual, embodiment, and the human soul. @gscampini
Simba is a young, quick-witted creative from Fort Worth, Texas who transforms life experiences into powerful poetic creations. A 2x slam champion, Simba has performed across the DFW metroplex and multiple states, captivating audiences with raw storytelling and rhythmic wordplay. Beyond the mic, Simba is also a tattoo artist and aspiring fashion designer, blending poetry, ink, and style into a unique artistic identity.
Tierra Tate, known as Goddess of Queens, is a DFW poet, author, and energy practitioner blending intellect, sensuality, and emotional depth. She is the author of the upcoming poetry collection called I Loved You Wrong on Purpose, exploring love, healing, and self-discovery.
