Poetry In Place – January 2026

Join us for Poetry In Place, a monthly workshop engaging and archiving our relationship with the Trinity River.

Poetry In Place is a project documenting the relationship of residents of Dallas with the Trinity River, one of the main geographical features motiving the placement of the city when it was founded. In monthly workshops, attendees will explore the river and record their experience based on prompts by Teaching Artists Lisa Huffaker and Joe Milazzo, with additional insight provided by a guest contributor.

This month, our guest contributor is Jean Lamberty.

Jean Lamberty is a retired educator who lives in Dallas. Her interests include poetry, gardening and grandchildren. She has lived near several rivers and now is experiencing the Trinity. Her poems have appeared in various small-press publications, and she is currently pushing back against the negative agenda of the current administration.
