SUMMARY:So You Want To Talk About Race: Banned Books Short Play Festival & Roundtable Discussion
DESCRIPTION:Experience the transformative power of storytelling at the Banned Books Festival—an electrifying evening of theatre presented in partnership with the Bishop Arts Theatre Center inspired by Ijeoma Oluo’s groundbreaking book So You Want to Talk About Race\, followed by a roundtable discussion on banned books with Executive Director Oni K. Blair and Education Coordinator Caro Achar of ACLU Texas. Executive Director Aaron Glover will facilitate.  \nGET TICKETS \nThis year’s festival features six bold\, original short plays penned by visionary local playwrights who dive fearlessly into the complexities of race\, identity\, and social justice. Each piece shines a light on a different facet of Oluo’s work—sometimes with humor\, sometimes with raw vulnerability\, always with striking honesty. \nMore than a night at the theatre\, the Banned Books Festival is a communal experience designed to spark dialogue\, challenge assumptions\, and ignite meaningful reflection. \nTickets are available through the Bishop Arts Theatre Center website HERE
