SUMMARY:A Drop of Mischief: Edna St. Vincent Millay and the Power of the Sonnet with Logen Cure
DESCRIPTION:In this 3-session generative workshop\, participants will learn about the life and legacy of 20th-century sonnet virtuoso Edna St. Vincent Millay. Through Millay’s work\, we will explore the power and potential of the sonnet form\, especially as a tool for resistance. Participants will apply concepts from our discussion in composing their own sonnets. Writers of all levels of experience are welcome! \n\nPlease note: this series of workshops will meet at 10am at The Writer’s Garret on Oct 25\, Nov 1 and Nov 8.\n\nLogen Cure is a queer poet and educator. She curates Inner Moonlight\, the monthly reading series and podcast at The Wild Detectives in Dallas. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her debut full-length poetry collection\, Welcome to Midland (Deep Vellum Publishing 2021)\, was shortlisted for the Reading the West Book Awards.
