Terrible Poetry, or How To Make Bad Poems Better with Logen Cure
October 23 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Remember that one time, when you wrote that one thing and it turned out terrible? If you’ve ever tried to write something and what came out on the page was plain old bad, this is the workshop for you. In this generative workshop, poet Logen Cure invites you to write the worst poem you possibly can, then explore strategies for revising that awful poem into something better. Clichés, cheesy rhymes, and bad puns welcome.
Logen Cure is a queer poet and professor. She curates Inner Moonlight, a monthly podcast reading series for The Wild Detectives in Dallas. She’s an editor for Voicemail Poems. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her debut full-length poetry collection, Welcome to Midland, released from Deep Vellum Publishing in 2021. She lives in Texas.
