Archetypes in Poetry with Joan Canby
December 4 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The lovers. The fool. A Dreamer. Throughout history, the archetype abounds in poetry. Starting with Jung and webbing away from there, join poet Joan Canby for a spirited conversation and writing session about the many different approaches to archetypes as subjects, as inspiration, as connective commonalities shared by all humanity.
Joan Canby has her MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She spent her career as a technical writer in corporate America. She began writing poetry after taking a poetry class from Brian Clements at SMU. It was Brian Clements who introduced her to The Writer’s Garret. She has been published in several journals including: Frogpond, Main Street Rag, Broken Plate, Presence, Heron Clan and California Quarterly. Her upcoming book Cascades will be published by Assure Press. She lives in Garland, Texas.
