Copies of Language, Uncanned, a chapbook featuring contributions from writers affiliated with our The Writer's Garret, are now available for purchase both in paperback and as a digital download, via Lulu.com.
"Like all literary ventures, Language, Uncanned aims to locate what is fresh, unexpected, vibrant and stirring in words and expressions that have become otherwise stagnant, predictable, drab or ineffectual. To that end, each of the nine contributors to this publication accepted a challenging assignment: to write a new poem, story or personal essay in response to a cliché assigned to him / her."
Language, Uncanned was conceived, designed, constructed, printed and bound by the class members of the Spring 2010 "Intermediate - Advanced Creative Writing" course offered by The Writer's Garret in Dallas, Texas. The course was taught by Lead Instructor Joe Milazzo (Director of Community Education and Outreach at The Writer's Garret) and Apprentice Instructors Claudia Meyer and Trey Smith.
Copies of the signed, first edition of Language, Uncanned are also still in stock locally, but in limited quantities (50 books total were produced), from We Are 1976 and the Lakewood location of Paperback Plus. Please check with these fine vendors as to current availability.
