Paper Explosions: Zine Camp 2012

Feb 21 2012 11:19 AM

The Writer's Garret teams up with Oil and Cotton to offer Paper Explosions, an intense week of writing and art.  Participants will create their own series of zines, learning tools for written self-expression while exploring art techniques behind the visual components of zines and their production methods.  The camp is for students age 11-18 and will be offered twice: June 18-22 and July 16-20, from 1-4 PM.  The camp costs $150, and space will be limited.  Your young adult can double down on Paper Explosions by taking it both times.

To fill the day with artistic expression, your child can join our partner camp Taking It to the Streets with Dallas Contemporary, which will happen during the same weeks from 9AM-12PM.  Parents can drop off at the Dallas Contemporary at 9am and pick up at Oil and Cotton at 4pm. FREE TRANSPORTATION from the Dallas Contemporary to Oil and Cotton will be provided by DART, and a healthy lunch will also be included, with produce provided by Urban Acres.

This summer, our students will explore their obsessions, define their margins, and go viral, by hand.
